Exodus 20:20~ I am the Lord your God who has rescued you from slavery in Egypt.

Hebrews 12-13 ~ So take a new grip with your tired hands, and stand firm on your shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong.

Proverbs 9:1-6~ Wisdom has built her spacious house with 7 pillars. She has prepared a great banquet, mixed with wines, and set the table. She has sent her servants to invite everyone to come. She calls out from the heights overlooking the city. "Come home with me" she urges the simple. To those without good judgement, she says " Come and eat my food, and drink the wine that I have mixed. Leave your foolish ways behind, and begin to live; learn to be wise."

1 Peter 3:6~..Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. and you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

The true woman is not afraid to place herself in a position of submission. She does not have to grasp; she does not have to control. Her fear dissolves in the light of God's covenant promise to be her God and to live within her...

On another note~ While we learned a lot with The Hillbilly Housewife, it feels so good to have fresh fruit in the house, and ice cream, and my Lean Cuisines for my quick lunches that I don't have to worry about preparing. I will continue to utilize much of what I learned, but it sure is good to be back to "normal eating." Well, normal for us~ reminds me of all that we have. So many go to bed hungry, with not enough food to eat. Infants and children are starving and sick, maybe covered in flies, somewhere, right now. Sorry to be a downer. And no, I haven't been staying up all night watching those very sad commercials asking for money to help the incredibly pooris more that I am inmpressed by the fact that we eat, and we eat well. Why do we have enough to eat, and many times more than we can eat? God is sovereign~ let us help those who do not have as much as we do.

On yet another note~ full of 'em tonight!~ If you notice that I have deleted all of the links I once had referenced on this blog, the reason is because I have decided to remove CHADD from this blog for varying reasons, following prayer and conviction during one of my pastors sermons. CHADD is obviuously a secular organization, but that is not the main reason. The main reason is that CHADD does not point us or others to our Savior, and there is no lack of other parenting helps sites that do.
On the other end of things I do not know for sure if an underdeveloped hyperthalmus is indeed the perscurser to 'learning disabilities' like ADHD and ADD, but my Bible is specific about raising a child up according their bent, that foolishness is bound up in the heart of every child, and that children need to be pointed to a Savior. And this covers my son's bent, and his need.If you have read past posts, you might remember that we have been up and down and in and out with taking the advice of physicians and counselors, secular and believers, about bringing Ty to counseling and the issue of medication. At one point we were even advised to accept a diagnosis of anti-social personality disorder, a very serious psychiatric disorder. Well, in prayer we rejected that diagnosis and after submitting to a few counseling sessions ( with us present ) with another psychiatrist, we realized that compared to our God, these people don't know what they are talking about! So what's the point? Not to disrespect the medical advances that have been made, but the field of psychology is a very diffrent plane than medicine is and it is, biblically, quite frankly, quite a slippery slope. After a lot of prayer we also rejected counseling. We have also yet to put Ty on any medical regime. We will continue to be in prayer with this, as with everything else in life, and see where the Lord takes us with this in the future.
I just wanted to encourage you if your a parent seeking help. Nothing else is sufficient to the cross of Christ, for either of you. We are making more progress with Ty placing him on the alter, and this alone, than we have with any other combination or path and we have been pointed in many different directions.

For the word to become effective for salvation, we must pay careful attention to it, prepare ourselves, and pray for understanding. We must also recieve it with faith and love, treasure it in our hearts, and practice it in our lives.
