I know I say this a lot, but I am just so thankful for my God-fearing friends! And thanx, Cor, if your reading this, for your encouraging comment ;) Yesterday, I was actually able to get together with her to pray for our husbands and all the men at our church as well as the men's retreat they will be attending this week. We were meeting originally to go over chapter 1 of the book Created to be his help meet by Debbi Pearl and were able to do that as well. It was a blessed time. Another woman who lives in her neighborhood, Jill, attended as well and we were all able to share our prayer requests and support one another in learning how to do this job of ours better. Not only do I love being able to care for other people, I love being cared for so well myself ( who doesn't!) :) Corey, and so may of the other women at our church, are such great examples of women caring for other women's souls. It is so comforting to know that I have so many friends in these women and to know that I can be there for them when they need me,
God willing. God is so good to us! I am so grateful to have been grafted in to such a great church, great in this way and great in so many other ways. I truly consider our church body to be family. I know I wouldn't grow as well in soil that wasn't as rich as this, and God is good to grow such friendships. Hearing the gospel preached to us every Sunday morning is invaluable, too. I can't even begin to express in words how much our care group leaders, Thom and Jill, have meant to us personally and what a debt of gratitude we owe them. They are also truly life-long friends! We have grown and changed so much in 2006. I know, in faith, that we will grow even more in 2007. I can see the hands of God on everything. I'm still learning to keep my hands off of things at times, but as I do, I learn much more and oh, how things happen faster and better than I could have ever pulled off.
This may be a separate post topic, but, having said that, I just have to mention that I have really felt led that this must be a year of prayer for me and, as it it turned out , that same leading seems to have been given to many of our care group members as well. This is going to be a great year for prayer, it seems! For me, I know that even more prayer will result in even more dependence and if you know me , you know that dependence is not a natural gift Lol but with a God like God, well, you just wanna be dependent! So, inspired, I really do want to grow in this area especially ~ as it affects ALL areas, doesn't it?!~ so if you feel led, please do pray for me. And let me know your prayer requests, it's my year for praying! ;)
